Meet the Staff, Jennifer Phillips

Jennifer has been around dogs and training her whole life. At a very
young age, she was an "assistant" to her grandmother, Clarice Rutherford,
author of "How to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With". At eight years of
age she got her very own dog, a Siberian Husky. She trained and showed
in 4-H for 7 years, showing 2 Huskies, a Rough Collie and a Yellow
Labrador Retriever. A few years later she started showing in AKC
competitions. She started working at The Dog Club in August of 2006.
After leaving for a few months in 2007 she is back with us and loving it!
Currently she has only one dog, a Chihuahua Terrier mix named Titus,
but has plans to show more Huskies in the future.
Jennifer is in a Veterinary Assisting program, and hopes to use the
skills she is learning to help animals in rescue shelters. Jennifer is
skilled in grooming and performs many of the daycare baths at The Dog Club.
Annie Walk
On August 23rd, the 11th annual Annie Walk and Pet Fest will
take place at The Main Library in Ft Collins. "Annie"
was a stray collie mix who was adopted by railroad workers
in 1934. She spent her life as an unofficial ambassador to
Fort Collins, greeting passengers at the train depot and
bringing a bright, welcoming presence during the bleak
years of the 1930's and 1940's.
The event includes a 1.5 mile dog walk. All proceeds of
the event go to purchase children's books and materials.
Go to the
Fort Collins Regional Library website for more
information and a registration form.
The Dog Club will be doing a Rally Demonstration during
the event. So stop by and visit us!
Pooch Plunge
The 5th
Annual Pooch Plunge will take place at the City Park Pool on
August 17 th & 18 th. Here's a chance for your
dog to swim with his friends before the pool is drained and closed
for the season. It's a fun and crazy event. Check out
last
years event on Revver.com. Tickets are available in advance.
What fun!!!!!
Labor Day:
Don't forget we will be closed Saturday,
August 30th through Monday September 1st for
the Labor Day holiday.
