Animal House Supply Drive
Throughout the month of August we collected many items for Animal House, a local no-kill rescue, located on the corner of Shields & Vine. Thanks to all of you who contributed. The sheer volume of donations was incredible. There were too many things to list them all here. I made 2 trips with my car loaded to the roof to get it all over to them. Thanks so much! And congratulations to Joanne DiVico, Ruby's mom, who won the raffle for 3 free days of daycare!

Doggie Olympics
This fun filled event will be held on Sunday, September 28th. Go to www.colapp.org for more information on the event. It will be held at City Park — over near the pool and baseball fields. There will be prizes, raffles, medals and fun for everyone. The Dog Club is a Pentathlon sponsor this year. It is the major fund raiser for Larimer Animal People Partnership. Check it out, come join in or at least watch the fun. It is a blast, I promise.

HOPE AACR
In August, Louise and her dog Moon, went up to Bozeman, MT to become certified as an Animal Assisted Crisis Response team. HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response is a national all-volunteer, non-profit, crisis response organization with specially trained and certified handler/canine teams. Emergency responders call upon HOPE AACR teams to provide comfort and support to people affected by disasters, usually in the recovery phase. Scientific evidence has shown animals are a positive factor in helping people cope with traumatic events. HOPE AACR teams are educated to be effective and professional while working in stressful, unpredictable environments.

In the next few months, Louise and other local teams will be contacting local organizations such as schools, fire departments, hospitals etc. to educate them on the services we can provide. If you know of anyone who might be interested in helping us get going in this area, please call Louise (970-416-1166) or email (info@dogclubonline.com).

Animal House Expo
On Saturday, Sept 27th from 10 – 3, Animal House will be having a Pet Expo at their location on Shields & Vine. There will be almost 30 pet vendors there including The Dog Club who will be putting on a Rally Demonstration and setting up a Rally course for you and your dog to try. So stop on by and say "Hi" and support this great cause.
