Veterinary Outreach to Costa Rica
Cecily Lyon, a CSU Vet student, owner of Petey & Quigley who frequent The Dog Club's daycare, is involved with a group who will be travelling to Costa Rica in January to provide veterinary care to animals in the town of San Isidro El General. The Veterinary Outreach to Costa Rica needs your support and donations to buy supplies and medications for the clinic. Check out the website at www.vidas.org for more information, and to make a donation. "COSTA RICA" must be on the donation form in order for it to be applied to this upcoming trip. Even in these hard economic times I hope you can spare something for this worthy cause. Brochures are also available at The Dog Club.

CPR & Disaster Readiness
Louise just completed an Adult CPR and First Aid class last week. Strongly stressed in the class was the need to be prepared for any disaster or evacuation that may be necessary. The link above gives you info on preparing your "kit" with everything you could need to survive 3 days away from your home. Prepare for your dog's evacuation too. Copies of vaccination records, 3 days worth of food, water and any of their medications, pictures of them incase they are lost. Arrange with out of town friends or family ahead of time to take care of your dogs since dogs are not allowed in shelters.

Louise & Jenny will be taking the Pet CPR & First Aid Class offered by The Red Cross on November 22nd. This class teaches how to recognize and respond to emergencies: from how to manage a variety of urgent care situations, including car accidents; wounds; electrical shock; and eye, foot and ear injuries; administering medications; to managing breathing or cardiac emergencies. This class also covers what to stock in various first aid kits, and to Be Prepared for an Emergency. Join us for this fun class!!.
