Referrals:  If you refer a new client to The Dog Club you will get a free day of daycare for your dog if that person purchases a daycare package. Tell your friends to indicate that you referred them on the information sheet they fill out the first time they come in.
New Floors!
Those of you who've been in since Memorial Day have noticed the installation of rubber flooring in the daycare playrooms. We are so excited about this change and know that it is an improvement all around. Better traction and more cushion will help dogs and staff alike. The floors are easy to clean too and are pretty much impervious to everything. Stop in and check them out.

Agility Classes!
With the new rubber flooring we will soon be announcing the addition of agility classes at The Dog Club of Fort Collins. So look for information coming out in the next couple of weeks. It will be great to train on the soft floors, plus we'll be inside, out of the weather.

Canine Good Citizen Class
I'm going to be running another Canine Good Citizen Class starting on Tuesday, June 29th at 5:00pm. We train all around town in real life situations. For more information on the CGC Test go to http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/program.cfm The class is $90 and includes the test on the last day we meet.

Cheryl Kolus
I'm excited to announce the addition of a new trainer at The Dog Club of Fort Collins. Cheryl Kolus is currently a vet student at Colorado State University and is past president of the Behavior Club there. How animals learn and why they do what they do has long been of interest to her, even as an undergraduate studying wildlife biology, and now her goal is to become a board-certified veterinary behaviorist. Cheryl is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and has completed several courses and seminars relating to animal training and behavior, including a semester-long dog behavior class at CSU and an intensive week-long class at Purdue University. An avid fan of clicker training, she has used this fun method with not only dogs, but cats, horses and even chickens. But Cheryl realizes you don't have to have a clicker to train effectively, and as a past volunteer for the Larimer Humane Society, she has helped others use positive reinforcement techniques for training and behavior modification.

Cheryl's four-legged kids include Jax, a golden retriever who has won local tricks contests for his performance of the Hokey Pokey, and Peanut, a cute geriatric cat whose tricks videos have been featured in two behavior-related national conference presentations.

Cheryl will be teaching our Good Puppy Classes.
